chocolate cake
my first chocolate cake!
cake
125g flour
37g cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
150g brown sugar
1 egg
112g sour cream
112g warm coffee
whipped ganache
180g whipping cream
125g milk chocolate chips
cake
preheat the oven to 350F, grease a 9inch cake tin.
in a large bowl, sieve together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, whisk in the brown sugar, then make a well in the centre. add the egg, sour cream, and coffee, whisk until everything is combined.
pour the batter into the cake tin, smooth the top, bake for 20-30 minutes.
ganache
place the whipping cream into a small saucepan, bring to a boil, once boiling pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips, leave for 1 minute then stir until all the chocolate has melted, cool in the fridge.
once the ganache is cool, either by hand or with a machine whip the ganache until thick and spreadable.
spread the ganache over the cooled cake:)
