i always just use hot chocolate powder in brownies whenever I’m out of cocoa powder. then by adding the malt they became slightly caramelized, ooey, with sticky, crisp edges.

140g butter, melted

200g sugar

2 eggs

114g milk chocolate, melted

100g flour

2g salt

25g hot chocolate powder

20g malt powder

165g chocolate chips

preheat the oven to 350F, line a 9x9 baking tin with parchment paper.

in a large bowl whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth and the butter isn’t separating from the sugar, whisk in the eggs, then whisk in the melted chocolate until everything comes together, it will become slightly thicker and develop a gluey type texture, that’s okay.

using a spatula fold in the flour, salt, hot chocolate powder, malt powder, and chocolate chips until there are no dry patches, pour the batter into the baking tin spreading it to the edges of the tin, bake for 25 minutes:)
